L-Leucinethiol (i.e. the reduced thiol) is a very potent, competitive inhibitor of microsomal leucine aminopeptidase from porcine kidney (Ki = 22 nM) as well as of aminopeptidase B (Ki = 0.13 µM). The active form of this inhibitor can easily be obtained by incubation of the more stable disulfide with DTT. F-2670 may act as well as an S-protected chiral building block.
